Navone.Celeste.Cil_Photo RESIZEDCil Navone was part of a tight-knit group of volunteer firefighters protecting the Santa Cruz County community of Felton. Born on New Year’s Day in 1916 in San Francisco, Cil had the firehouse in his blood, answering the siren no matter what time of day or night it rang. And when it was time for the annual firefighters pancake breakfast, Cil was there sharing his enthusiasm for life. When advancing a hose line during a structure fire, he suffered a fatal heart attack on January 4, 1973.
