Reed.Kevin.Charles_Photo RESIZEDLieutenant Kevin Reed joined the Oakland Fire Department in 1991 and cut his teeth in the Oakland Hills fire of that year where he helped save a block of homes. His career spanned stints at Station 20 and Station 8 where he found a wonderful camaraderie and great happiness and fulfillment. Kevin always thought of others, volunteering his free time at Children’s Hospital of Oakland and participating in fundraising for Random Acts. Known for his quick wit, he could always cut the tension with a joke, replacing everyone’s frowns with smiles.
