Lawrence “Larry” Stewart began his career in service as a member of the U.S. Army, 34 Infantry. While in the Army, he served on the Armed Forces ski patrol under challenging weather conditions. He brought his discipline and spirit of service to the Lake Valley Fire Protection District where he served with honor. While responding to a fire incident, Larry’s fire apparatus was involved in a collision, and he died in the line of duty due to injuries he sustained. He is survived by his wife Glenda, daughter Elisabeth, and brother Leroy.
