Roughly 1,500 firefighters and their family members broke out their Dodger Blue and headed to the ballfield for the 2nd Annual Firefighter Appreciation Night with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
At Dodger Stadium’s Historic 76 station, attendees were treated to a pregame celebration that saw firefighters come from throughout the Southland to show support for their profession, their team and the California Fire Foundation.
Before the game, Foundation Chair Lou Paulson and Foundation Executive Director Hedi Jalon were given an on-the-field welcome from the Dodgers’ faithful. The good times continued after the first pitch, as the Dodgers offense came alive to drub the division-rival Diamondbacks by a score of 9-3.
Donations collected throughout the evening went toward the California Fire Foundation’s mission of providing emotional and financial assistance to families of fallen firefighters, firefighters themselves and the communities they protect. CLICK HERE to see more pictures from the event.
Baseball fans in Northern California will have their chance to support the Foundation of July 6, when the San Francisco Giants host their Firefighter Appreciation Night, also benefiting the Foundation.
