Kenneth “Ken” Hood loved the fire service. He began his career as a volunteer firefighter in Georgia at the age of 16. Ken thrived in being part of various groups such as SWIFT (South West Interface Team), FIRESCOPE and Incident Command Team. He was a chief that worked side-by-side with his firefighters and would never ask them to do something that he would not do himself. Ken was a passionate volunteer in every community he ever lived in. Ken enjoyed NASCAR, traveling, the ocean and his two dogs. In October of 2018, Ken succumbed to the effects of job-related cardiac failure.
