For 21 years, Kirk Bowdridge worked with the phone company, but when he began volunteering with the Big Bear City Fire Department in 1981, his life took a rewarding turn. When the department went full-time in 1989, so did he. Kirk was an incredible husband, friend and family man, with an infectious laugh and a great smile. He loved cooking, umpiring, golfing and taking trips with his wife Di on their Harleys. Kirk died from complications from a heart attack he suffered just two hours off duty. Kirk gave in death, as he did in life, by being an organ donor.
