Yaroslav Katkov began his fire service career as a San Diego County Reserve Firefighter. In 2018, he began working with CAL FIRE San Diego. He was passionate about his career in the fire service and served the citizens of San Diego with pride and honor. Outside of work, Yaroslav loved hiking and staying active, visiting virtually every national park in the US. He passed away from a job-related illness in July, 2019.
